X X

These X's on my hands have the signify something, don't they, don't they.
These X's on my hands have the signify something, don't they, won't they.

Is it my character, the x stands for extremist, going against the flow, staying out of pop culture. Straight edge, or just straight hype, get to know me and find out what I think is right.
It's my choice isn't it, to protect my body while you poison yours?
I try and keep all my doors available, all my options open.
So call me an outcast and cast me out, see who has the last laugh when you find what I'm about out.
I don't need your synthetic smile to feel good, I can do that on my own.
And if you think I'm playing just wait till your alone.
See who's laughing now.

These X's on my hands have the signify something, don't they, don't they.
These X's on my hands have the signify something, don't they, won't they.

It's the way I look isn't it. I look out of place with a cold one in my hands.
So why is it that at this age I can go and die, then hold a gun in my cold dead hands.
Doesn't that seem wrong, these things start to add up but the sum is always off.
Just like the sum total of votes my generation brings, we have a voice and it's starting to get dry.
Let us wet our whistle, and then you can hear us chime,
I bet within a year underage drinking will be starting to decline.
Europe must being doing something right, but were still behind the curve.
I say give us some us justice and the right before we even consider going off to fight.

These X's on my hands have the signify something, don't they, don't they.
These X's on my hands have the signify something, don't they, won't they.

Whatever it is that you see me as, I didn't ask for the label, I just came for the show.
Everyone has to get a stamp I just have to get four lines more.
I wait in line with everyone, but at the front I stop, make me ashamed or proud when I raise my fist tonight
So when you see our hands in the air and the X's all around.
Raise them higher, get loud, be proud.
When you see our hands in the air and no one seems to care.
Throw them higher, be loud get proud.

These X's on my hands have the signify something, don't they, don't they.
These X's on my hands have the signify something, don't they, won't they.

At shows, they mark you with an X on each hand if your under 21. X's on hands used to be a sign for the straight edge movement, where people didn't drink smoke or have sex. I guess I took the straight edge side and the under 21 who believes 18 should be the drinking age side. It's a hip hop song, I like it.
